DR.
TESS SOBCZAK-
Owner and Optometrist
Dr. Tess has been practicing full scope optometry in Petoskey, Michigan since moving to the area in 1997. Many of her patients know her from her eighteen years practicing independently inside Walmart Vision Center with her husband, Dr. Jim Sobczak. During this time, Tess and her husband shared the duties of their practice and the duties of raising their three sons. While working together they became known as Dr. Tess and Dr. Jim to avoid confusion and these names have stuck.
Dr. Tess spent her childhood in Houston, Texas and Neodesha, Kansas. She did her graduate studies at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where she met her future husband, Jim, a native of Alpena, Michigan.
As a child, when she first decided on being an optometrist, Dr. Tess always imagined a private practice with an inviting, home-like atmosphere where patients were treated like family and the care was not only professional, but personal. Dr. Tess has endeavored to create this with Infinity Eye Care. The office is beautiful and the service is fun and caring.
When she is not at the office, Dr. Tess loves spending time with her husband and their sons Ty, Jacob and Brett. She is a lifelong bibliophile, novice painter and fan of classic film, and she also enjoys cooking, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and playing piano.
